Ashley & Jed - Winter e-session

I had a great time photographing this fun loving couple's e-session and I'm looking forward to photographing their wedding this coming October. When I met with Ashley and Jed to discuss their wedding and e-session, Ashley knew right away she wanted a winter session. When we finally picked a day that worked for both of us, it turned out to be -17. For me that wasn't much of a problem since I'm not the one being photographed, I could bundle up nice and warm and not worry about what I looked like. I'm sure I was pretty scarey with my bandana. My only problem I found were that batteries don't last long in that kind of cold. Despite the chill, we were able to find some great places out of the wind and had fun regardless.
One of the great things we photographers get to do, is not only capture the two as a couple, but we also get to capture the emotions shared. How great is that?!

George - Labradoodle

Isn't this just the nicest looking dog you've ever seen? And what a cool breed name...Labradoodle ! George and his owner came out for a quick walk in the snow with me for a few shots despite the freezing cold wind! It would have been a fantastic winter morning had the wind not been blowing off the lake. I won't tell my husband, but I wouldn't mind having one of these breeds...George is just so handsome! and the sun just made his butterscotch coloring look so amazing.

Erin

My daughter doesn't normally let me photograph her and when she does, it's funny because I have a hard time getting her to keep her eyes on the camera...she tends to look up out of the corner of her eye just as I press the shutter...it's a shame, she doesn't let me photograph her more often 'cause I think she's so beautiful and has an amazing smile...I'm not biased or anything either ! ha ah
She also brought along her handsome boyfriend, Troy, and her long time friend, Ashley. It was a lot fun photographing them all.

Lyla - 1 yr

I had a fantastic time photographing little Lyla...
she's a really cutie pie!
She was one of the sweetest dolls I've ever photographed and I think she's going to be a real girly girl. She loved the pearls and knew exactly what to do with them, and even knew how to wear her mom's bracelet.

I love the little heart on her bum...so cute!

Rieley - 3 yrs

Just a really quick post for now of this little cutie!!!! I went up to Oshawa on Saturday for a wedding consult and then over to my brother's in Newmarket for a visit. Stayed longer than originally anticipated as my tire went completely flat and I had to stay another day to get it fixed.

My little nephew Rieley was such a joy to take a break and spend a little down time with. I got to be a little kid again for a little while...we played lego and did dot to dot coloring, and played hockey, and spider man...I got to be red & blue spiderman while Rieley got to be black spiderman while mom & dad slipped out quick to the mall. Of course the camera had to come out for a bit and Rieley was more than pleased to be in front of the camera and checking out every image afterwards....he had some great ideas for posing too! more will have to come later...thanks Rieley for all the fun!!! can't wait until next time!

Hockey Portraits

So this year, I thought I'd do something a little different for my son's hockey team photo. It's typical that year after year, we get the same pose...the player bent over his stick while standing on the ice looking straight into the camera. I don't know about anyone else, but I've enough of those shots. this year, the boys are getting B&W shots like what follows....way better don't you think?

I'm also doing this set up as a fundraiser, so if you're interested, I'll be at the Gananoque rink on January 23rd from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 pm...first come first served...

Michelle & Joe - Wedding

What a great way to start the new year than to start your new life as husband and wife?!!! I'm so glad I had the opportunity to share this special day with this couple. It was such an intimate day for their family and friends. Thank you for allowing me to share in your day.

...take a look at these rockin shoes!!!! aren't they the most fabulous pair of shoes you've ever seen? and I'm not one for shoes really but I did admire these!

These two look like they're pretty stoked for their parents wedding. Devon is Michelle's son and Katie is Joe's daughter and are a pretty amazing pair you can easily see.

Michelle couldn't keep herself from enjoying her happiness as her Aunt and her father helped button her dress. It's the first time I've ever seen a father help his daughter with the dressing details...what a father won't do for a daughter.

I knew when I first met Michelle, she'd make one of the most gorgeous brides ever!

Watching the snow fall...I love winter weddings. they can make for such a magical time.

...and the handsome groom...and just as estatic for this day as the bride

I love it that the grooms are just as estatic as any bride could possibly be. You can see Joe's love for his bride just beaming in this image.

This is one of my most favorite moments of the entire year...I've seen the sand used before instead of the unity candle, but this was one of the most beautiful I've ever seen in using the sand as a symbol of "blending the families". The words said during this part of the ceremony were quite moving

My only regret is that with winter weddings, the sun goes down too quickly so creating images with the snow and environment around outside is almost impossible...but capturing their love was the easy part

I was able to coax the couple outside in the cold air for just a brief moment, but I'm glad we did

And I had to post one more for Katie as she's such a beautiful young lady and it's her Birthday....Happy Birthday Katie !!!!
