Stacy & Martin - Wedding

My last wedding of the 2010 season...its been an amazing year, and Stacy & Martin topped it all off with a beautiful winter wedding held at the Royal Ashburn Golf & Country Club north of Oshawa/Pickering. Stacy made for a gorgeous bride, while Martin of course was looking pretty dapper himself and the country club is every photographers dream location. Digital Negatives - Retouched Images

These images show the difference between "digital negatives" and "retouched" images. Retouching images can take some time which is why it can take a while before your wedding images are completed since there would be 800 of these to complete. When comparing photographers and their packages, take a look not only at their finished work, but whether they include digital negatives or retouched images. it can be well worth the extra fee to obtain the retouched images for print quality later.

Monica & RJ - Missed My Man in Afghanistan Session

Thanksgiving weekend was a good weekend to be thankful for a lot of things...and I was so grateful for the weather's co-operation for Erica and Mike's wedding since it was on the beach at Charleston Lake. It was a pretty significant place for these two as well, so glad it all worked out. I even had a chance to sample some of Erica's families' home made apple cider! Awesome!

Had an amazing time photographing Jessica & Mike's wedding at St. Anthony's Church then celebrated at the Loyalist Golf and Country Club for the evening with Don from Music Makers. Jessica looked so beautiful and you can see how much these two love one another. I'm thrilled to be given the honour of capturing these special memories for such wonderful couples. It was cool creating images with the information I recently learned. We photographers have to keep learning so that we can provide our clients with some amazing art. BOOKED UNTIL JANUARY

I apologize to all my clients and friends for having to announce that at this time, I am completely booked until after Christmas this year. Unless you already have discussed a possible date with me, or have scheduled your session, I will be unable to accommodate any new sessions until that time. It's been an extremely busy wedding season this year as well as for child portraiture, etc.

As much as I love photographing everyone, I must make sure I also have the time to workflow the images for my clients so that they receive the best possible images I can give.
One of the reasons that it often can take some time to produce an image for a client is the amount of time it can take to edit it. I've attached a sample of just what I have to do...in the unedited image, you can see my husband who often assists me holding the light source. So, in order to produce a great image, I must "rub" him out...lol...it's not as easy in real life as it is with photoshop...(just teasing now...come on...I wouldn't really want him rubbed out!), but you can understand why it can take a little time.

Mark & Miranda - Cherish the Dress

Mark & Miranda are a really sweet couple and I had a fabulous time photographing their "Cherish" portion of the Trash the dress session. We had to end it short because it was so clouded over, I was loosing my available light source (the wonderful sun) quickly. Stay tuned for some more images from our upcoming "Trash" portion of the session soon. Can't wait...the dress is getting wet!!!

Stacy & Martin - Engagement session

I met up with Stacy & Martin first at Queen's University for their engagement photos and then headed to a new favourite spot of mine in a grassy area by RMC. The rain held out for us up until the end...thank goodness. Martin & Stacy drove down from Oshawa to meet with me, but an unco-operative police officer decided martin had earned a speeding ticket along the way...lol...hope the images were worth it. I'm looking forward to your wedding day in Oshawa in December. I love winter weddings.

Liz - Senior Session

After having two sessions postponed due to torential downpours here in Kingston, I was finally able to meet Rob and Judy in Niagara Falls for their engagement session. However, again we thought it was ging to be a wash because where we were going to go for images, they closed it to the public due to some Elvis convention/concert...we couldn't believe it! I didn't want to disapoint them, so I called a security guard over and with a little sweet talk, he let us in. So glad there are people out there who love a great love story! As you can see by these images, there was a reason why we wanted to photograph in this place. It's called "The Secret Garden" and was so beautiful!

Julie & Doug - Esession

When Julie and I were talking about ideas for her engagement session with Doug, she mentioned that Doug had a motorcycle. She also mentioned that she enjoyed photography and liked an edgier feel, so when she mentioned the motorcycle, I had a great idea. I was so excited to be playing with the off-camera flash style with them. I think Doug liked the image I showed him of him on his bike also. Here are a few images from their session today.

Bryn & Kye - 1st Birthday

I love little kids!!! they're so much fun because they're so honest, inquisitive and innocent and I love when they're awestruck when they come across something that catches their interest for the very first time. Their laughter and joy is so infectious!

Today was another day that I had the honour of capturing those smiles for Kye's first birthday with his little sister Bryn.

NSI workshop - Firefighter

It's been an amazing time here at Brock University learning from such talented photographers...not just James Hodgins our instructor, but every photographer walking around on campus. The other night, a group of us were out in the dark experimenting with some off camera flash when 2 gentlemen we didn't even know stopped and started giving us advice. As photographers, our talent depends on constantly learning and one of the best ways to do it is to get together with other talented photographers....what a time. I can't wait to apply what I've learned to all my clients upcoming sessions.

This image was one we took with one of our models we had used earlier in the day. He told us he was a firefighter so of course we had to get him in gear. He was such a great sport and so was his girlfriend.

NSI Workshop - Day 2 Session

Amazing Day today in St. Catharines!!! The sun was shining and we were able to take 4 beautiful models to the beach for some Trash-the-Dress Images and work with them a little on our own. It was so much fun! these girls were full of energy and couldn't wait to be covered in mud and water! Everyone had a fabulous time. Here are just a few from the session.

Having a great time learning at NSI in St. Catharines. Meeting some amazing photographers and even ran into Susan Tunnicliffe from home. James Hodgins is an fantastic photographer that is so upbeat he's got us all in stitches laughing all the time during our shooting...and he holds nothing back in sharing information....loving it! Here are just a few images from today's sessions alone...Even have a shot of a fireman!!! wait until you see it...our models were amazing also...they had so much fun with us....can't wait for tomorrow!

Even the other photographers are all sharing information with me and I actually taught someone else something!
